Meet Buffy

Buffy, a 15-year-old cocker spaniel mix came to The Mitzvah Fund's remote mobile veterinary clinic. She arrived, with her favorite human, David, on a very rainy day in early December at a local Senior Center Meals on Wheels site. David was very worried about Buffy because his regular veterinarian had told him she needed extensive dental care but the price of that care was way beyond his means. David himself is an army and national guard veteran and has been dealing with health challenges of his own. David and Buffy are who The Mitzvah Fund was created for.

With the help of generous support from pet lovers like you, The Mitzvah Fund's experienced veterinary team was able to provide Buffy with necessary diagnostic tests like blood work, and start her on antibiotics to prevent infection. Two days after her initial assessment at the Mitzvah Fund mobile Clinic, Buffy came back to our home base clinic and had 33 infected teeth removed. She did great, and after a sleepover in our "recovery room" with our round the clock vet tech on duty, she is back home with David and acting like a new dog.

David and Buffy are just two of The Mitzvah Fund's most recent clients. Our goal is to help as many beloved pets of low income seniors and veterans, disabled first responders as well as anyone who is unhoused. Your support will help us expand our services into more communities with our great mobile clinic. Together we can preserve that powerful bond between people and their companion animals.
